Robert J. Gough named Vice President of Combat Avionics Systems at Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems

April 20, 2015: Northrop Grumman Corporation has appointed Robert J. Gough vice president of the Combat Avionics Systems business unit within its Electronic Systems sector, effective immediately.

In his new position, Gough will have executive responsibility for the sector's combat avionics portfolio, including radars for the F-16, F-22A, F-35 Lightning II, and other aircraft as well as other avionic sensor systems.

Gough joined Northrop Grumman in 1986 and has held a series of technical, functional and program leadership positions in the satellite and avionics arenas throughout the company. He previously served as director of the Communications, Navigation and Identification (CNI) business in the company's Information Systems sector, overseeing all aspects of the CNI software-defined radio avionics subsystem and programs for the F-35 Lightning II and F-22. Most recently, he served as director of Operations in the Information Systems Communications division, responsible for execution and optimization of division processes, including leadership of programs, engineering, product lines, technology and a variety of other day-to-day functions.

Gough earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from Dartmouth College. He has completed the Executive Perspective for Scientists and Engineers program at the University of California San Diego, and the Strategy Development course at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
