Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. company, today announced it has added a new mobile service unit (MSU) at Egelsbach Airport near Frankfurt, Germany. The new MSU further enhances the company’s factory-direct service offerings for Citation, King Air and Hawker operators in Germany and throughout Europe.
“With more than 300 jet and turboprop customers throughout Germany, we remain committed to making quality, factory-direct support convenient and accessible,” said Brad Thress, senior vice president of Customer Service at Textron Aviation. “The addition of this MSU is further evidence of the significant investment we continue to make in our service network in Germany and throughout Europe. From the three dedicated support aircraft serving Europe to the expansion of our service center authorizations, the level of factory-direct support solutions we offer our customers is unmatched in the industry.”
Textron Aviation’s newest MSU will be based at longtime partner Hahn Air’s Egelsbach facility. Hahn Air is a German scheduled and charter airline based at Egelsbach (QEF)and Düsseldorf (DUS) airports and operates scheduled flights out of Düsseldorf as well as domestic and international charter flights with an exclusively-Citation fleet. Hahn Air and Textron Aviation have enjoyed a long and successful relationship since 2005, when Hahn Air took delivery of its first Citation.
“The new MSU adds another vital element to our successful relationship with Textron Aviation which has already been going strong for more than a decade,” said Daniel Rudas, general manager and COO of Hahn Air Lines. “We are very pleased to welcome the first Textron Aviation MSU in the Frankfurt area to our hangar in Egelsbach. For us, it is more than providing space for a MSU; it is a reinforcement of our commitment to our partner Textron Aviation.”
Equipped to respond to scheduled and unscheduled aircraft service needs, Textron Aviation’s MSUs are staffed with highly skilled technicians who can perform limited inspections, engine, tire and brake service on Citation, King Air and Hawker aircraft.
In addition to the Frankfurt-based MSU, Textron Aviation has a robust support network serving customers in Germany through a company-owned service center in Düsseldorf and two line maintenance stations located in Stuttgart and Bremen.
Textron Aviation serves its European customers with six company-owned service centers, five line maintenance stations and a team of more than 400 Textron Aviation staff, comprised of engineers, service technicians, field service representatives and sales representatives. In the last year, the company’s focused investments in Europe have resulted in three dedicated support aircraft serving the region and a European parts distribution center located in Düsseldorf, Germany, which houses more than 225,000 parts.
