Airlines descend on Farnborough International Airshow 2016 as they host Skytrax World Airline Awards

The Farnborough international Airshow opens on Monday 11th July and is set to welcome more airlines than ever before. Known as the shop window of for the industry the biennial aviation showcase will once again play host to the Skytrax World Airline Awards. These prestigious awards will take place on Tuesday 12th July and will bring together the top management from leading airlines across the globe.

The Skytrax World Airline Awards are particularly important to airlines because they are decided directly by customers and recognised as the global benchmark of airline excellence. A vast list of Airlines from across the globe are expected at Farnborough this year including Lufthansa, Thai Airways Air France, ANA, Emirates, AirAsia, Turkish Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Norwegian and Qatar Airways.

Their attendance reinforces the importance of Farnborough International Airshow as the place where orders are announced. At the 2014, the total number of orders and commitments recorded at the Farnborough International Airshow reached staggering US$204bn - a record for the show.
