In her role as National President, Lynn will curate and drive an all-India, holistic, focused, strategic route for the Aviation Council, WICCI. This is my opportunity to help diminish inequalities such as income disparities, non-inclusion, and other inequities, and to bring about a fair and equitable network for women. Disruptive innovation and sustainability are the key elements that I will be focusing on during my tenure at WICCI.”
Some goals for this year include:
Harbeen Arora, Founder & President, WICCI, Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry says, “Lynn has a solid background in aviation and technology and has put together a power packed team toward empowering women in aviation. The concrete goals and policy recommendations coupled with the energetic endeavours of the council will provide the much needed propulsion for women soaring to the top, and also energise the needed changes in this sector for inclusion and sustainability.”
India’s aviation industry is the fastest growing in the world, according to IATA, with enormous growth opportunities, largely untapped.
Industry stakeholders should engage and collaborate with policy makers to implement efficient and rational decisions that would boost India’s civil aviation industry. With the right policies and relentless focus on quality, cost and passenger interest, India would be well placed to achieve its vision of becoming the third-largest aviation market. The expenditure of Indian travellers is expected to grow up to INR 9.5 lakh crore (US$ 136 billion) by 2021.
The WICCI National Aviation Council, comprising member councils from each state in India, is geared up to engage and support women aviators, to take the industry to the next level.
