In a subtle show of strength to China, on August 20, 2013, the Indian Air Force (IAF) landed one of its latest acquisitions, the Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules four-engine military transport aircraft at the world’s highest and recentlyactivated Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) airstrip in Ladakh near the line of actual control (LAC).
The US military support to Pakistan and strategic cooperation with China will help PAF unfold its modernisation plan by 2019 building up to 28 combat squadrons. As air power will be critical to victory, the IAF will need to maintain clear-cut edge over PAF.
