SATS Ltd received three major awards, including the prestigious Global Ground Handler of the Year as well as the Asia Pacific Ground Handler of the Year honour in 2023 at the 10th annual Payload Asia awards ceremony held in Singapore. SATS subsidiary Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT) also received the Cold Chain Service Provider of the Year for Asia Pacific.
SATS Ltd took home the top honours for Global Ground Handler for the second year in a row and continues to lead ground handling services in Asia Pacific with consecutive awards over multiple years. AAT's award as Cold Chain Service Provider for Asia Pacific is a first for the company. AAT was also the first company to introduce on-airport cold chain facility at Hong Kong International Airport in 2022.
Bob Chi, CEO of SATS Gateway Services said: "These accolades are testament to the hard work and dedication of our global and local teams. It underscores our dedication to pushing boundaries with our business partners to offer new end-to-end logistics solutions to the industry and all our customers, leveraging our global network which covers more than 210 stations in 27 countries and territories.
"Our customers' trust our ability to handle the seamless flow of passengers, flights and cargo in the world's busiest airports. Our SATS global presence now reinforced with the late acquisition of WFS, allows us to serve our customer from Changi Airport to Charles De Gaulle Airport and Miami International Airport and many others drives our commitment to delivering excellence and innovation," said Chi.
Mike Chew, CEO of AAT said: "In line with SATS' value-added services strategy, we are meeting the growing needs for special cargo handling in just 15 months since AAT introduced Hong Kong's first on-airport cold chain facility with complete temperature-controlled environment at Hong Kong International Airport. This validates our commitment to providing superior cold chain services and to addressing the market's demands."
"This award is a vote of confidence from our customers in our compliance and standards in handling and storing special cargo," he said.
According to Payload Asia, the awards celebrate industry excellence and puts the spotlight on the most outstanding companies in the air cargo and logistics supply chain. This year's winners were determined by a combination of online industry votes and the deliberations of a panel of industry experts.
