World's Longest-Range Aircraft Connects Phuket to Dubai, Brings Total Gulfstream City-Pair Speed Records to more than 760
Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. today announced its newly certified ultralong-range Gulfstream G800 achieved its eighth city-pair speed record en route to Dubai Airshow 2025, underscoring the aircraft's unmatched performance, range and efficiency.
The eighth G800 city-pair speed record was completed on a flight from Phuket, Thailand, to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, accomplished in 5 hours, 38 minutes. The record was joined by seven others, which include Miami to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 12 hours, 33 minutes and Florence, Italy, to Savannah, in 9 hours, 33 minutes. This latest record brings the total city-pair speed records for the Gulfstream fleet to more than 760.
"Setting eight speed records this quickly following its August entry into service is a powerful testament to the tremendous capabilities of this aircraft," said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. "We are already seeing overwhelming interest and demand for the G800 and are pleased to be showcasing it in Dubai this week. The Middle East continues to be a strong region for Gulfstream, and we are looking forward to meeting with our customers as well as prospective customers."
The G800 is on display in Dubai alongside the Gulfstream G700, which just surpassed 90 city-pair speed records. Recent, notable city-pairs for the G700 include Dubai to Sydney in 12 hours, 50 minutes; Jakarta, Indonesia, to Lagos, Nigeria, in 12 hours, 41 minutes; Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to London in 7 hours, 48 minutes; and Dubai to Hong Kong in 6 hours, 30 minutes.
The Gulfstream G800 can travel 8,200 nautical miles/15,186 kilometers at its long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.85 and 7,000 nm/12,964 km at its high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90, making it the longest-range aircraft in Gulfstream's fleet. The G800 features a low cabin altitude of 2,840 feet/866 meters when flying at 41,000 ft/12,497 m, 100% fresh air in the cabin, a plasma ionization air purification system and 16 Gulfstream Panoramic Oval Windows. The interior can be configured with up to four living areas or three living areas and a crew compartment.
With a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.935 and a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90, the G700 also features the most spacious cabin in the industry with natural light from 20 Gulfstream Panoramic Oval Windows. The performance capabilities of both the G700 and G800 can be attributed to the combination of Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines and the Gulfstream-designed advanced aerodynamic wing and high-speed winglets.
