StandardAero Celebrates 50 Years of Supporting Pratt & Whitney Canada's JT15D Turbofan Engine Family

Scottsdale, Ariz. October 23, 2024

StandardAero, a leading independent pure-play provider of aerospace engine aftermarket services, is celebrating 50 years of supporting Pratt & Whitney Canada's JT15D turbofan engine family. Best known as the powerplant for the Citation I / II / V/Ultra and Hawker Beechjet 400 business jets, the JT15D has also powered a number of trainer aircraft, demonstrators and unmanned aerial vehicles over the past five decades, with more than 6,700 engines produced.

In 1974, Dallas Airmotive (acquired by StandardAero in 2021) was appointed as a Pratt & Whitney Canada Designated Overhaul Facility (DOF) for the JT15D turbofan, the initial JT15D-1 variant of which had received Canadian certification three years prior.

Today, StandardAero supports the JT15D engine family from its overhaul location in Summerside, PEI, Canada, which commenced work on the type in 2002. Operators are also able to benefit from access to ten service center locations in the United States, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Singapore and Australia. In addition, StandardAero provides full support for the Pratt & Whitney Canada PW300 and PW500 business jet engines from its DFW International Airport facility in TX, USA.

"StandardAero is proud to support the global JT15D operator community with cost-effective maintenance, repair and overhaul support for this popular powerplant," said Jeff Poirier, Vice President/General Manager of the Turboprops & Fleets (TPAF) Business Unit for StandardAero. "With over 2,000 JT15D-powered aircraft still in service, StandardAero's network of engine facilities ensures that operators are still able to depend on a reliable source of engine MRO, both today and tomorrow."

StandardAero is a Pratt & Whitney Canada Designated Overhaul Facility (DOF) for the JT15D engine, with an overhaul facility location in Summerside, PE, Canada, supported by ten service center locations in the United States, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Singapore and Australia. StandardAero's JT15D service offerings include the VMAX pay-per-hour support program, which delivers peace of mind through a predictable, 'no surprises' engine maintenance expense guarantee. StandardAero also provides engine condition trend monitoring (ECTM) services for the JT15D family, as a CAMP Systems Designated Analysis Center (DAC).

StandardAero (stand #2373) will be showcasing its capabilities at the National Business Aviation Association's Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), taking place October 22-24 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, NV, USA.
