The two aircraft, along with the Praetor 600 super-midsize and the Phenom 300E light business jets, were on static display at Embraer Executive Jets' headquarters
Embraer hosted the C-390 Millennium and A-29 Super Tucano of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) on March 18 and 19, marking a significant event for both aircraft as they made their inaugural visit to the area. The event took place at Embraer Executive Jets' headquarters near the Melbourne Orlando International Airport and included a diverse guest list of government authorities, military officials, prospects and partners.
In addition to the defense aircraft, Embraer also showcased the Praetor 600, the most technologically advanced super-midsize jet in the world, and the Phenom 300E, the best-selling light jet for 12 consecutive years. The two-day event allowed attendees to explore these advanced aircraft up close and learn more about their capabilities.
"We were proud to host both our C-390 Millenium and A-29 Super Tucano at our Melbourne facility, allowing us to engage with an important and diverse audience while showcasing an aircraft built just hours away in Jacksonville," said Bosco da Costa Junior, President & CEO, Embraer Defense & Security. "The A-29 Super Tucano has been an important part of our manufacturing footprint in Florida for over 10 years, and we see big opportunities for both aircraft in the market with perhaps the potential to bring the C-390 here, as well".
The C-390 is a versatile platform with an unbeatable combination of mature, proven and innovative technologies and scores with low operating costs, ease of maintenance and maximum operational readiness enabling interoperability and connectivity in networked environments and multiple domains.
The C-390 thus offers air forces worldwide exceptional fleet performance, maximum cost efficiency and high availability. And on the other hand, modern equipment that leaves nothing to be desired. The C-390 can carry more payload (26 tons) compared to other medium-sized military transport aircraft and flies faster (470 knots) and farther. It is capable of performing a wide range of missions, such as transporting and dropping cargo and troops, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting, and humanitarian missions, operating on temporary or unpaved runways such as packed earth, soil, and gravel. The aircraft has been selected by South Korea, Czech Republic, Austria, the Netherlands, Portugal and Brazil.
The current fleet of aircraft in operation has accumulated more than 11,500 flight hours, with operational availability of around 80 per cent and mission completion rates above 99 per cent, demonstrating exceptional productivity in the category.
The A-29 Super Tucano is a turboprop light attack aircraft flown by 16 air forces around the world and has surpassed 500,000 flight hours globally, with 60,000 of those in combat. The aircraft can perform various roles ranging from close air support to air interdiction, coupled with a diverse array of weaponry depending on the environment.
