India had ordered 36 fighters out of which 26 have been delivered. Dassault Aviation will now deliver three Rafale fighters per month for the next three months thus by December 2021, 35 Rafale fighters will be delivered. The 36th Rafale is to be delivered by January 2022 and will have all India-specific enhancements like Hammer air-to-ground, SCALP land attack, and Meteor air-to-air missiles. It is reported that trials will be carried out on the enhanced 36th Rafale and then the remaining fighters will be upgraded to India specific standards. Thales Front Sector Optronics (FSO) air borne system is said to have undergone major upgrades for the Indian Air Force Rafales. FSO system provides state-of-the-art situation awareness information and targeting data.
