MMRCA Deal - A Strategic Partnership with India

Issue: 04-2009By Bernhard Gerwert, CEO Military Air Systems, EADS Defence & SecurityIllustration(s): By bernhard.jpg

During Aero Iindia 2009, EADS had proposed to establish a long-term strategic partnership with Indian aerospace and defence companies. We have a strong interest to create a long-lasting strategic partnership with Indian aerospace and defence companies and we are committed to bring our capabilities, skills and technologies into this winwin-partnership. India is our partner of choice and, therefore, we invited India to join the Eurofighter Typhoon programme as a partner. It is my personal conviction that we must listen to our Indian customers and industrial partners and learn from them in order to cooperate together successfully. Why should India select the Eurofighter Typhoon as its forthcoming Medium Multi-Role Combat Aircraft (MMRCA)? There are several political, industrial and operational reasons why we are convinced that Eurofighter Typhoon is the most suited combat aircraft for the Indian Air Force (IAF).

POLITICAL REASONS

of the Eurofighter Typhoon will strengthen India’s political, industrial and military relations with Germany, the UK, Italy and Spain as Europe’s leading industrial nations. The four nations and the four Eurofighter partner companies will stimulate economic growth and industrial development in India as reliable partners.
