Pratt & Whitney President Bob Leduc has been honoured with Aviation Week’s “Lifetime Achievement” award. Aviation Week writes, “Leduc came out of retirement and used his leadership skills to shake up the corporate team and guide the PW1000G geared turbofan program through its challenging service introduction and production ramp-up and onto the road to success.”
This is a significant honor, a capstone to Bob’s 40+-year career in aviation and most recently, as the leader who spearheaded P&W’s production and oversight of our most successful programs, the GTF, F135, PW800, and of course, the PT6-E. Speaking of the PT6-E, the latest program from Canada was also honored with a Laureate this year, in the general aviation category. This new PT6 variant offers single lever control, maximum efficiency, quicker climb and greater speed. This is the second consecutive Laureate for the Canada team, having been selected last year for the PW800 program, for which they also won the Grand Laureate prize earlier this year.
